Eva Longoria is absolutely delighted to have been asked to open the Harrods winter sale of 2006, which will open to bargain hunters on December 28.

The Desperate Housewives’ superstar will be accompanied by Harrods’ owner Mohammad Al Fayad for opening the world’s most famous department.

“It is such an honor and a privilege to be asked by Mr Al Fayed to join him at the opening of the sale at the world’s most famous department store,” said Longoria.

So there was a lot of speculation over Beyonce Knowles thwarting Jennifer Hudson because of her role being much larger than that of the pop star… Beyonce’s parents giving a cold shoulder to the American Idol finalist because of the same nonsense… but we’ve finally managed to get the real story straight from Beyonce……

“I’d heard about the Broadway play since I was 15. When I heard they were doing the film I said, ‘I have to be a part of it. I don’t care if I’m in it for five minutes; I just want to be a part of this movie’.” Said the excited bootylicious babe!!!

And as far as those foul rumors are concerned, then this is what she says… “I knew Deena was not written as the strong singer or the powerhouse, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to be a part of something wonderful. Deena has such a range,” she exclaimed. “I think, more so than any of the other characters. She butterflies from being so plain and becomes this tortured diva toward the end.”
